Two days on the Oregon Pacific Railroad
March 22-23, 2025
DAY 1:
On Saturday, March 22, PRO is offering an all day test-and-tune run on this historic piece of railroad along the Willamette River past the 119 year old Oakes Amusement park and the Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge. During the afternoon lunch break you can bring your own food, or where we tie down, we will be right next to a pizza place. A sort walk away from the tie down is the Oregon Rail Heritage Center, home of the SP 4449, SP&S 700, and OR&N 197, which will be open for you to tour.
SET-ON
Set-on location is at 9333 SE McBrod Ave., Portland, OR.
Set-on times are:
Friday, March 21st from 4 PM to 6 PM
Saturday, March 22nd from 7 AM to 8:45 AM
The set-on area will allow multiple cars to set-on at the same time.
Parking locations are located along SE McBrod Ave.
SAFETY MEETING
The Safety meeting will begin at 9 AM.
Multiple round trips are planned.
DAY 2:
On Sunday, March 23, PRO is offering a 13-mile scenic round trip run from Canby to Liberal.
SET-ON
Set-on location is in Canby, OR. Detailed instructions will be provided later.
Important: The set-on area is limited in size. Access is tight and there is limited maneuvering room. Motor homes (RVs) towing motorcars will not have room to maneuver in the set-on area. Parking and entry to the “set-on area” will be supervised.
Set-on time:
Sunday, March 23rd from 7:30 am until 9:00 am.
SAFETY MEETING
The Safety meeting will begin at 9:15 AM.
Multiple round trips are planned.
BOTH DAYS:
A Maximum of 15 cars are allowed each day.
There are no gas stations located along our route each day so please make sure you bring enough fuel with you.
There is no on-site camping available. There are multiple hotels within 30 minutes (depending on traffic) of the site-on sites.
We will be towing a potty car on this excursion.
Mentoring will not be offered on this excursion.
PRO General Order # 6 (REV 2023) is in effect on this excursion.
The excursion fee is $55 each day.
