Test and Tune
On the Oregon Pacific Railroad
Sunday, March 24, 2024
PRO offers an all day test-and-tune run on this historic piece of railroad along the Willamette River past the 118 year old Oakes Amusement park and the Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge. At Set-on turntables will be checked for compliance with the rules NARCOA has in place at the time. Since the toilet situation was not ideal on the last test and tune, this time we will be towing a port-a-potty. During the afternoon lunch break you can bring your own food, or where we tie down, we will be right next to a pizza place. A sort walk away from the tie down is the Oregon Rail Heritage Center, home of the SP 4449, SP&S 700, and OR&N 197, which will be open for you to tour. The excursion price is only $60 per car. The EC's for this excursion are Guy Howard and Dave Klein, ECIT. Sorry, there will not be any mentoring on this excursion.
The run is open for registration. Please send registration forms to Dave Klein, ECIT, at:
37901 303rd Ave SE, Enumclaw, WA 98022-9684.
