Lebanon to Sweethome, Oregon

We are delighted to announce this year, this very nice scenic run will be enhanced by Carolyn Taylor, who has volunteered to provide a light lunch for the participants on the run.  

The railroad now has its own rail-bike operation at the end of the track. To accommodate both lunch and the rail-bikes we have tweaked the schedule.

Please note Lebanon does not permit on street RV parking. Those of you bringing an RV you may park in the small rail yard next to the set-on site on Friday night but not Saturday night.

The Albany and Eastern RR and Pacific Railcar Operators “PRO” invite you to journey on their railroad from Lebanon, Oregon to Sweet Home, Oregon for about 35 miles round trip on well-maintained rail.    This is a run of many scenic contrasts from commercial to residential, then industrial followed by open country, forests, then it slices through the town of Sweet Home to more industrial and forest, and a geological surprise just before we turn the cars.  We will be towing a potty car.  The Albany & Eastern RR is also home to the Santiam Excursion Trains, (santiamexcursions.com).

Dry camping is permitted on the railroad’s property on Friday night, Sept 19th only.  All vehicles must be off railroad property by 11:59 PM Sept 20, 2025.

 

Set-on

At the Lebanon train station:-

South Third and West Sherman, Lebanon, OR.

Set-on will be from 08:30 to 09:30 on Saturday Sept 20, 2025

The safety meeting will be at 09:35 am. 

Departure

We will depart at 10:00 am and travel to MP29 by about 11:30, where we will stop for lunch and to work around the rail-bikes. After lunch we will proceed to the turn around point and start our run back to Lebanon in good time for those of use who are going on the Prineville for the Sunday run

To  accommodate this new schedule we will tow a porta-poty.
